Stacie Crimm gave her child more than life. She gave up her own life so that her baby could live.
According to MSNBC.com Stacie was diagnosed with head and neck cancer shortly after she found out she was pregnant with the baby that she thought she would never be able to conceive. She had a chance for survival if she agreed to chemotherapy treatments that would put the baby that she was carrying in great harm. Stacie sacrificed her only chance at survival to give her daughter Dottie Mae life, even though she would not be alive to see her grow up. Stacie tried her hardest to hold on for her daughter. but the cancer took control. Stacie was rushed to the hospital after collapsing in her home and doctors performed a C-Section was performed to save Dottie Mae's life. Dottie Mae was born 10-weeks premature and weighed only 2 pounds. Stacie was able to hold her daughter momentarily but soon after giving birth to her baby girl, she slipped into a coma and died three days later. Dottia Mae will live with Stacie's brother and his wife as Stacie wished.
